Sacred Liturgy Series: Introduction to Sacred Liturgy and Rite

Join us for the next four months as we dive into a new series on Sacred Liturgy.

Michael Raia will be our guest speaker this month.

Michael is a committed lifelong Roman Catholic with a deep love for Christ and a passion for beauty, renewal of the liturgy and sacred arts, and evangelization. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Architectural Studies while serving actively in campus and youth ministries. He earned a Master of Arts in Liturgy (MAL) with a concentration in Sacred Art & Architecture from the Liturgical Institute at the University of St. Mary of the Lake in Chicago and is currently pursuing a dual degree to earn a Master of Sacred Arts (MSA) and Master of Theological Studies (MTS). Michael’s design and formation efforts are informed by over 15 years of broad relational ministry involvement and leadership as a parish volunteer and staff member.

Michael has presented on the topics of sacred art & architecture, liturgy, and evangelization to elementary, junior/senior high school, and college students, young adults, seminarians & clergy, building committees, parish-wide gatherings, and podcast/radio audiences.

Michael lives in Austin, TX where he enjoys the outdoors, great food, and live music for which the city is known. His brother, Fr. Jonathan Raia, is Vocations Director for the Diocese of Austin, and their parents remain active Catholics in Houston, TX.

Schedule for night:
5:00-6:00 - Confessions
6:15pm - Mass
7:00pm - Gather in Upper School Drama Room
7:20pm - Talk begins
8:45pm - Head to unofficial gathering spot. Location TBD.
8:50pm - Diving Deeper Class begins
